Why ?

Frameries, is a town focussing on the future with the creation of the “PASS” (Parc d’Aventures Scientifiques). It maintains and develops a strong cultural identity in the centre of the Mons-Borinage area. Two fine examples of this are the Music Academy and the “Frabrique de Théatre” (theatre factory), as well as a long lasting and lively musical and choral tradition.

The Tourist Office, supported by the Local Authorities, are presenting a great theatre show during the last weekend of August 2003. The show will be a mix of culture, history and heritage. Using the most modern means of scenic arts and techniques available the show will last approximately two hours.

Building on the experience gained from the successful “Medieval Frameries” weekend in September 2000, we are now preparing for an even more ambitious event.

THE MOST OUTSTANDING EVENT OF ITS KIND IN THE REGION.

Where ?

The farm of the Temple, created by the Templars in 1142, is an exceptional historical site. Its architecture is very simple, but impressive by its uniformity. Its large dimensions allow light effects and fireworks to create a unique atmosphere to dramatize the events.

The Legend of Marotte and Litgère

The stage space is very large : 120 m. along the former railway slope. The high trees and the pillory constitute a magnificent scene. It’s an open but intimate space at the same time.

The meadow with a surface 20.000 square metres destined to the spectators, offers perfect visibility, good security and easy management for the audience.
